A 12-LESSON ONLINE MASTERCLASS

500+ Students enrolled | Lifetime access | One Finished quilt

Sound familiar?

As a devoted quilter, you want each creation to shine, to look exactly the way you pictured it when you first chose those fabrics. But sometimes, well, things don't quite go to plan.

The patches don't match somehow, the matching points don't meet precisely and the seams aren't always as accurate as you'd like them to be.

Let's face it, we've all had those moments when our passionately envisioned quilt, instead of becoming the precise masterpiece we imagined, decides to look nothing like the quilt you had in mind.

Staring at the stunning quilts made by others and thinking "I could never make something that precise." And yes, you absolutely can.

The good news? It's all about having the right foundation, the habits, the setup, the techniques, in the right order. Once those click into place, precision starts feeling like second nature.

Let’s unlock your quilting potential

Welcome to Precision Piecing, your new best friend in the sewing room.

12 self-paced lessons, covering everything that shapes how your quilt comes together.

You will learn how patch assembly actually works, so every block comes off the machine looking considered and well-made.

That consistent quarter-inch seam and finished block sizes you can rely on? Those are in here too.

And gradually, the confidence to take on the designs you have been quietly putting off, the complex ones, the techniques you have been avoiding.

By the end, the frustration gives way to something much better. The quiet satisfaction of a finished quilt you are genuinely proud to show off, whether it goes on a wall, wraps around someone you love, or makes it to a quilt show.

What others say

"Quilting has been a passion of mine for many, many years, and being a fan of Brigitte Heitland’s patterns and irresistible fabrics, I decided to enroll in her online class “Quilt Maker Academy”.  Brigitte is a great teacher, very detail oriented, and her course includes step-by-step instructions, all available to download.  Like I mentioned, I’ve been quilting for a long time and I learned so much from her.  I sincerely appreciate her creativity, skills, and sharing!"

Kathie Meyers

What others say

"I have been quilting for a while but all just self-taught. I've started with the first few blocks and have already learned so much."

Lynn S.

"This course allowed me to try techniques I had always shied away from. I'm no longer scared of curves or Y-seams."

 Julia R.

"I followed Brigitte's every tip and voilà — my first perfect Y-seam. Who knew I could do this? Her teaching style gives me confidence."

Kathy C.

What's included

What is included inside Precision Piecing Masterclass

Every lesson is built around a block, so you can learn the technique and put it into practice straight away.

01 The ¼" seam: consistent and reliable.

02 Matching points: crisp and clean, every time.

03 Half-square triangles: simpler than their reputation suggests.

04 Hourglass blocks: balanced and precise

05 Flying geese units: clean lines, no drift.

06 Partial seams: less complicated than they look.

07 Square-in-a-square blocks: crisp corners, every time.

08 Y-seams: the technique you will finally stop avoiding.

09 Eight-point stars: the star of the show.

10 Curved seams: clean lines, no puckers.

11 Appliqué: a different kind of precision.

12 Foundation paper piecing: as sharp as can be.

By the end, all these blocks come together into a finished quilt.

You are not just practising techniques, you are making something you will want to show off.

Choose from two different quilt layouts:

An ultra-modern design with a white base, bright colours, and an asymmetric setting with plenty of negative space.

Or a more traditional option, a simple grid layout with sashings and a calm, considered palette.

Each layout comes in two sizes - wall hanger or lap quilt.

Your choice.

A FEW THINGS YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING

Q: "Can't I just find this on YouTube for free?"

A: Well, yes and no. Free tutorials are wonderful for picking up individual tips. But a random collection of videos won't build your skills the way a structured system does. Here, every technique builds on the last, and you end up with an actual finished quilt to show for it.

Q: "I'm not sure I'll have time to finish it."

A: Good news: there's no deadline. No pressure. No one checking whether you've done your homework. Lifetime access means this masterclass fits around your life, not the other way around. Some students work through it week by week. Others dip in whenever they have a quiet afternoon and a cup of tea. Either way, you get there.

Q: "I've been quilting for years. Is this too basic for me?"

A: Possibly, but probably not. Most experienced quilters have one or two techniques they quietly sidestep, or habits that create just enough friction to be annoying. If you've ever avoided a pattern because of the Y-seams, or unpicked the same matching point three times and given up. This is for you. Students who've quilted for decades regularly tell us it was the most useful thing they did all year.

Q: "I prefer learning in person."

A: That's completely understandable, there's nothing quite like sewing alongside other quilters. But in-person classes have fixed schedules, no rewind button, and they end. This masterclass lets you work at your own table, in your own time, and pause mid-demo as many times as you need. Most students find it's a surprisingly good fit.

Hi, I'm Brigitte

I'm a fabric designer for FreeSpirit and a quilt pattern designer, which means I spend a delightful amount of time obsessing over how fabrics, shapes, and blocks come together to make quilts that are not only beautiful, but genuinely satisfying to sew.

Precision Piecing grew out of seeing the same frustrations interrupt quilts that could have come together beautifully with the right support.

The techniques themselves are not complicated. But they do need to be learned in the right order, with the right context, and practised in a way that builds real, lasting skill.

That is exactly what I built this class for.

"I had a rough start but went back, redid the squares, and learned a lot. I am going to frame my finished quilt. "
